Description

The Shear Bolt, also known as a shear pin, is a "fail safe" connector. Commonly found in snow throwers connecting the shaft to the auger or in marine equipment connecting to the propellers, shear bolts are designed to protect equipment from sudden impact or excessive load by breaking. In this role, the shear bolt protects other, often more expensive or less easily replaced, parts from being damaged. Shear bolts are uniquely built for their purposes and should be purchased from an OEM parts dealer, like us.
